We warmly invite you to relax and enjoy a spring break, a retreat or even a lazy guided walking holiday at our friendly and informal B&B Holiday and Retreat Centre on the edge of tranquil woodland and farmland, near the Dornoch Firth National Scenic Area, and within easy reach of Ardgay and Bonar Bridge. A "B&B holiday" usually lasts for 3 days or longer.

We would really like to show you this enchanting area of the Northern Highlands of Scotland, which has a large variety of things to see and do all year round. Therefore the longer you stay, the cheaper the nightly rate. (Please note: short stays are available only at short notice, or during the off-season.).

We provide great knowledge of the local area, including an extensive range of our own annotated maps, enabling you to have an interesting and varied holiday or retreat here.

As we are able to adapt the accommodation for families and groups, have very flexible opening hours, and offer discounts for stays of more than one night (the longer the stay the greater the discount), we are able to provide affordable and relaxing holidays.

The high season rate for the double ensuite room (two sharing) varies from £25 per person per night (long stay) to £37.50 per person per night (single night stay). More details on the prices page. Dornoch Beach, less than 20 miles from our B&B accommodation in Sutherland

Beautiful sandy beaches, some less than 20 miles away.

We offer a double ensuite room to which an additional fold up small double bed can be added, making it perfect for a family with young children or good for 3 or 4 adults who are happy to share and save money. We also offer a single / twin room which can be adapted for 3 people with an extra bed.

Gleann Mor Sutherland

Magnificent and easy remote glen walks less than 20 miles away. Gleann Mor.

Free WiFi is provided, and a lock up garage which is ideal for bicycles and motorbikes. We can also allow use of our washing machine and tumble drier for longer stay guests. We can usually accept pets but please check with us first. The house has good thermal insulation so stays warm. We like to maintain a reasonably quiet and tranquil atmosphere.

Loch Migdale

Beautiful lochside walks less than 10 miles away. Loch Migdale.

The B&B itself is in an area of mixed woodland and farmland with many deciduous trees, and there are lovely woodland walks right next to the house with waterfalls and country lanes lined with wildflowers in the summer. Autumn colours are splendid. We are near the villages of Bonar Bridge and Ardgay where there are shops and places to eat out.

East Amat Falls

Fine waterfalls, many less than 20 miles away. East Amat Falls.

This is a relatively unknown and under-explored part of Scotland, away from the main tourist areas, and excellent for family holidays. The Dornoch Firth, a designated National Scenic Area, is one of Scotland's best kept secrets, with its beautiful views, delightful woodland and coastal walks, hill and mountain walks, waterfalls (we are quite near the famous Falls of Shin), gorges, mountain bike trails, roads suitable for lazy cycling, golf courses, sandy beaches, historic towns and standing stones, to name but a few of the attractions in the area.

Amat Forest

Magical Landscapes. The Amat Forest, less than 20 miles away.

Getting here is easy. We are in Culrain which has a railway station within walking distance of our house, and, being near Ardgay and Bonar Bridge, we are on an east-west through route. Therefore we are in an ideal location if you wish to explore both the North West and North East coastal areas of Sutherland in Scotland as these can be accessed via a series of fine day trips which we can help plan for you.
