Our New B&B and its Magical Location in Sutherland, on the North East Scottish Mainland

slideshow

In April 2013 we moved from the Isle of Skye to Culrain in Sutherland on the mainland, near the Dornoch Firth National Scenic Area, one of Scotland's hidden gems. Although Skye is a wonderful place to be when the weather is good, Sutherland presents more opportunities for enjoyable holidays in all weathers, and variety for families. Please click here to find out more about this fantastic area and our new B&B.

The Dornoch Firth area is a magical, enchanted area and has a great variety of scenery and things to do. Being on the eastern mainland of Scotland the weather tends to be drier and sunnier than on Skye. There are also beautiful sheltered woodland trails, many with sculptures, waterfalls, and gorges, for those wet days if you still wish to be outdoors. Fairytale castles, sandy beaches, standing stones, historic towns, and many other features make this an amazing place for a holiday. Sutherland is well-known and much-loved within Scotland but is not well-known abroad. We hope you enjoy the slideshow though we have not yet had a chance to put anything like the full set of pictures for the area. However do browse our website and look at the various pages about the locality, activities and attractions to get a fuller idea of the area - though this too is only a snapshot of the area within a short distance of our B&B.

We are still able to offer budget rates for longer stays, families and small groups, and during the off-season. (N.B. Please note that we are NOT located on or near the Isle of Skye!).
